KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide each guest with exceptional customer service in a positive, helpful and engaging manner
Properly identify and handle all items intended for purchase
Process customer transactions and payments efficiently and accurately
Answer phone calls in a pleasant manner and route call to the appropriate person.
Retail store upkeep - cleaning and stocking shelves
Perform opening and/or closing register duties as scheduled
Maintain clean and safe work environment
Possess a positive and helpful attitude toward every guest and team member
Able to communicate professionally at all times with guests and team members
Must naturally enjoy interacting with people
Excellent customer service skills
Proficient arithmetic and money computation skills
Must to able to remain in a stationary position for majority of shift
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
It is important to keep in mind that this position requires the individual to be a “switch hitter”. The garden center business is a seasonal business and as such there may be times when we need the individual to help in other areas such as unloading trucks, pricing inventory, weeding plants, or any other job where we need an extra pair of hands. The ideal candidate would be not only capable, but also willing to fill the voids when necessary.
Able to constantly work in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions
Weekend availability is required
Basic Plant Knowledge is valued but no required.
Previous cashier experience valued, but not required
Previous retail experience valued, but not required
